Dance Attire
Proper attire is necessary for all students to receive quality instruction. The following dress code must be followed or the student may be asked to sit out. Hair must be securely tied back. No jewelry. Pre-School Ballet – Pink leotard, tan tights and pink ballet shoes. 4/5 Combo – Lavender leotard, tan tights, pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes. K/1st Combo – Light Blue leotard, tan tights, pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes. Trio Class – Black leotard, tan tights, pink ballet shoes, tan tap shoes and tan jazz shoes. Intermediate/Advanced Class – Leotard or athletic clothing approved by the instructor, pink ballet shoes, tan tap shoes and tan jazz shoes. Teen Advanced Class – Leotard or athletic clothing approved by the instructor, dance paws and tan jazz shoes. Tap is optional and should wear tan taps. Hip Hop – Athletic clothing that allows free movement and tennis shoes or sneakers. Recital specific shoe will be determined by Winter Break. Acrobatics/Tumbling – Leotard or Biketard with footless tights and bare feet. Musical Theatre Class – Athletic clothing that allows free movement and tennis shoes or sneakers. Class Etiquette
Please do not be late for class. When students do not arrive on time, they miss the warm-up, which is crucial to preventing injury. If a student is late for class, they may be asked to sit down. Students are to be dropped off no more than 15 minutes before class. All students are to be picked up promptly after class. CDA is not responsible for children who are unattended in the lobby or the parking lot. Children are not allowed into the studios until a CDA teacher is present. Although qualified and proper instruction is given at all times, it is possible to sustain injury through dance. CDA will not be held responsible for any injury incurred on the premises. When rehearsing for recital, the presence of each student is important for choreography and blocking purposes. Students who miss more than four classes in the months of April and May could be excluded from the recital. Please take the time to read all emails, newsletters and flyers that are sent out. Email is primarily used to inform parents about announcement and changes in class information. If you do not take the time to read these letter, you will not know what is going on with your dancer and you will miss important information. Keeping our records current will ensure you receive important information. Our website is also a good place to find general information.
Missed Classes/Substitute Teachers
Students are allowed to make-up two classes per year in a corresponding age appropriate class. Please see the front desk or visit the CDA website for a complete list of classes including days and times. CDA reserves the right to use a substitute teacher at any time. In the rare case that a class is cancelled, a make-up class will be offered at the convenience of the studio. An email will be sent to parents notifying them of the make-up option(s). Parent Observation/Information
Parents will be invited for a parent visitation session two weeks throughout the year. Please limit visitation to these weeks in order to limit distraction to the students. Please take the time to read all emails, newsletters and flyers that are sent out. Email is primarily used to inform parents about announcements and changes in class information. Payment and Drop Policy
Tuition payments are due no later than the 15th of each month. We accept the following payment options check/cash/credit card. Tuition payments can be drafted on the first or fifteenth of every month. If payment is not received on the date of your choice a $20 late fee will be applied. If you choose to drop a class, you must inform the studio in writing. You are financially responsible to the studio until written notice is given. No tuition refunds will be given nor costume payment(s). Please be sure to notify CDA before the first of the month to ensure tuition drafts have not been made.
Studio Closings/Holidays/Weather Closings
CDA does not observe teacher workdays or any other holidays unless noted below. Labor Day/Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas/Spring Break Ask our front desk staff for specific calendar dates or check our online calendar via our website. It is not always necessary to cancel class when schools are closed due to bad weather. Please visit our website for any closings due to inclement weather. Make Up classes will be rescheduled at the discretion of the studio and instructors.
Discounts/Promo Codes
If you are taking advantage of any coupons or special offers advertised by CDA, please enter a code or description of your discount in the “Comments” section of our online registration. Discounts will be adjusted after receiving enrollment update by our staff. An email confirmation will be sent to the family within 48 hours.
Photo Release
CDA is hereby granted permission to take photographs of the students to use in brochures, web sites, poster, advertisements and other promotional materials the studio creates. Permission is also herby granted for CDA to copyright such photographs in it’s name.
