She began her dance training at 5 years old from Mineral Springs School of Dance under the instruction of Rita Hava Sterling. Laura danced recreationally and competitively until she graduated high school in 2001. She attended Columbia College in Columbia, South Carolina from 2001 to 2005. Laura was a member of Columbia College Dance Company and served as fund-raising coordinator. She guest performed with a local modern dance company, the Power Company, for several artistic events. She received the Debbie Turbeville Scholarship in 2004 for leadership. Laura graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in choreography and performance in 2005. She studied a summer at Kim Robard's Dance School in Denver Colorado. Laura has also been a certified senior pharmacy technician for 3 years at Walgreen's. Laura performed 3 seasons with Queen City Jazz Company under the direction of Melanie Sullivan-Coyle in Charlotte, North Carolina. She has been teaching at Carolina Dance Academy for the past 6 years. She often attends master classes at Columbia City Jazz continuing her dance education. Laura recently married Steve DiVeglio her boyfriend of 6 years. <p class="bio_text"> <br> <tr> <tr> <td width="217" style="text-align: center"><img src="images/LBrisby.jpg" width="195" height="294"> </p> <p class="info_text_bold">Lauren Brisby</p> <p class="info_text_bold">&nbsp;</p> <td width="516" valign="top" class="bio_text">Lauren Brisby was raised in Oakland, New Jersey, which is about 45 minutes outside of Manhattan. It was here that she received training at Pompton Lakes Dance Academy and developed a love for Broadway and musical theater. As an eighth grader, she was selected as one of ten students in the Academy to join the Rockettes for a training session in NYC. Upon entering high school, Lauren moved to Richmond, Virginia, where she promptly joined the high school dance team. She served as Captain her junior year of high school and competed in various dance and band competitions as a member of The Trojanettes. Lauren, along with her team, earned the distinction of High Kick Champions of Virginia. Lauren attended the University of Tennesse, Knoxville. She participated in dance classes throughout college, but chose to pursue a degree in Advertising. After graduating from UT, Lauren moved to Charlotte and began taking adult classes at the NC Dance Theater. She was a member of the Carolina Panthers TopCats in 2002 and 2003, thus awarding her the opportunity to perform in the XXXVIII SuperBowl in Houston, Texas. Lauren has been teaching at Carolina Dance Academy for seven years. She works full-time as the Marketing Director for AXA Equitable in Charlotte. <tr> <tr> <td width="217" style="text-align: center"><img src="images/CCargile.jpg" width="195" height="294"> </p> <p class="info_text_bold">Claudia Cargile</p> <p class="info_text_bold">&nbsp;</p> <td width="516" valign="top"><p class="bio_text">Originally from Columbia, South Carolina, Claudia has over 24 years of dance experience. She trained at Palmetto Performing Arts, and Columbia Ballet School and is afounding member of the Devine Street Jazz competetition team. Claudia graduated from Winthrop University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in dance and education. While at Winthrop she was a member and captain of the dance team, sharing her love for dance and support for the eagles! During her time on the dance team Claudia was able to travel to Big South and NCAA tournaments annually to represent Winthrop, as well as compete all four years at the NDA National Collegiate Dance Championships. While at Winthrop Claudia performed in the bi-annual Winthrop Dance Theatre and Choreographer Showcases, and started working for Just Dancin and Columbia Ballet School. After graduating she began her teaching career in the Fort Mill. While teaching, she coached the Fort Mill Middle School dance team, and started the Varsity, JV, and competitive cheerleading program at Nation Ford High School. Upon moving back to Columbia, Claudia earned her Masters of Education, summa cum laude from Columbia College and began building the dance program at Chapin High School. Currently she teaches the dance program at Chapin High School, choreographs for the school musical, is the director for the District Dance Day, coaches the Chapin Dance Team and is employed by Carolina Dance Academy in Charlotte, NC and Creative Movement and Dance, in Columbia, SC. Claudia hopes to continue sharing her love for teaching dance with all the inspiring and talented kids at CDA! She made the switch to gymnastics at age 8 and has continued her pursuit of gymnastics since then. She attended the University of Maryland College Park and majored in Elementary Education. She has 18 years of coaching experience and had the pleasure of coaching one child who went on to be in the 2000 Olympics! Miss Kaitlyn has always loved to perform and began her dance training at New Castle Dance Academy and Miss Heather's School of Dance where she trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, pointe, Hip Hop, cheer jazz and modern. Through her years at these studios she participated in all recitals, productions of Grease and Shrek the Musical, and was also an active member of Miss Heather's competition dance team. She also still teaches at Miss Heather's when visiting Delaware. Miss Kaitlyn attended Hollins University her first year of college where she was an active member of the Hollins Repertory Dance Company and performed in the 2008 Hollins Spring Dance Works. She has had opportunity to train at Broadway Dance Center, New York City and Koresh Dance Company, Philadelphia, PA on many occasions and has taken classes from members of Alvin Ailey, Parsons, Amy Marshall and Kim Robard's Dance Company. During her time at Winthrop she has performed in the 2010 Student Choreography showcase, Winthrop Faculty Showcase and Senior Choreography Showcases, as well at the Music Department's production of The Magic Flute. Miss Kaitlyn has also been danced in local benefits to raise money for different organizations, including Peidmont Medical Center's Expression of Hope and Day of Dance Benefit Concerts. As a dance teacher and a choreographer Miss Kaitlyn enjoys dancing all types of genres and creating new works with different types of music. Throughout her dance training, Liz was able to compete and take master classes from talented choreographers from all over the US. She then attended Winthrop University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education. Liz began working at Fort Mill High School and Carolina Dance Academy in 2003. Shortly thereafter she earned her Masters degree in Divergent Learning of the Arts from Columbia College. Liz enjoys teaching dance classes and working with the competitive companies at CDA. She also coaches the Fort Mill High School Dance Team and choreographs the school musicals. She graduated from Point Park College (University now!) with a B.A. Degree in Dance with an emphasis in ballet. She has taught ballet, pointe, jazz, and tap for 20+ years. Ms. Eikenberry choreographed many ballet productions such as Nutcracker, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and many more. She has served in roles as Artistic Director, Assistant Artistic Director, Choreographer, and Dancer in many ballets, musicals, and other productions over the years. She was awarded several partial and two full scholarships while training there. She entered Ohio University in Athens, Ohio as a Dance Major in the fall of 1990 studying numerous techniques, styles and choreography. She eventually earned a double major in both Management Information Systems and Marketing, yet retained her love for dance by keeping in touch with faculty and students. In addition to her full time employment, Gina began teaching tap to various age ranges in the fall of 2000 at The Anderson Dance Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio. While there she trained and choreographed numerous routines in support of various regional and national competitions, namely, International Dance Challenge 2007-08, Cathy Roes Productions 2006-07 and Impact Dance 2005-06. To continue her personal development and training Gina has taken several professional dance courses in New York City at Steps on Broadway and in Los Angeles at Edge Performing Arts Center. After moving to South Carolina, Gina joined Carolina Dance Academy where she has been teaching recreational, technical and competition dance for a variety of students with various skill levels. Gina has concentrated her talents on various competition level tap routines in the Southeast by sending teams to the following competitions: Masquerade 2010  Forest City, NC; Bravo! 2010  Charlotte, NC and Headliner's 2011- Columbia, SC, Masquerade 2011- Forest City, NC and Starbound 2011  Columbia, SC. Gina has worked diligently over the past three years to develop strong relationships with both students and families, one of her most cherished qualities is the respect and rapport she has earned from her students. She strives to develop each student personally helping them to reach their maximum potential as a dancer and discover their own love for dance. Gina resides in Fort Mill, SC and is married with two children. She danced competitively throughout her childhood, has taught dance at studios in the Carolinas and New York and also taught as a UDA Instructor traveling throughout the Southeast to various high school and college dance team camps. Ashley has a BS in Business Administration with a focus in Business Management from the University of South Carolina-Aiken. Outside of work and the studio, Ashley is currently training to run a half-marathon in June and is fundraising for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
